What is an aldrop?
An aldrop, often called a kundi, is a sliding bar bolt fitted across a door. The bar slides into a socket on the door frame and the flap takes a padlock, so the door can be bolted from the inside or locked from the outside. You will find them on main doors, room doors and storerooms across India.
Which aldrop sizes to stock
The 8 and 10 inch are the sizes we ship most, so they are where most shops start. The 12 inch goes on larger, heavier doors. Light aldrops come in 8 and 10 inch for lighter doors, and mini aldrops in 6 and 8 inch suit smaller doors and cupboards.
Stainless steel 304
Our SS aldrops are made in stainless steel 304, the grade that holds up on doors exposed to rain and damp.
Direct from the factory
You deal with the people making the aldrops in Aligarh, so sizes stay consistent from one order to the next.
